  4. I am not a good gardener and this week I saw the plants that i thought had died in the last freeze start to grow new leaves. It is great to know that when hard things happen, things can start over again.

  5. Watching my 'boys' ... 18, 20, and ... yes 54 ... compete in motocross racing. I can rarely (read: NEVER) find anything to use digitally for their albums. I've had to ship most stuff out cause I cant find things like ohh DIRT, red/black flags, anything to do with dirt bikes and racing really. Any hints ya'll? This has been part of their lives for 35 years and I have a LOT of catching up to do! :-)

  6. My little moment was when I was at the store looking at the kid toys wanting to pick something up for my daughter and I saw the Fisher Price Learning Clock on the shelf. I had the learning clock when i was growing up so I had to get it for her. I love that Fischer Price is making some of their old toys again. And to top it off, my little girl just loves it!

  7. Celebrating the 'view'! Getting a new living room widow- the first in 30 years of marriage- after 15 moves- and now being able to shoot pictures thru a clean glass,as we have so many awesome birds, and wildlife here! I guess this little thing is a really BIG thing ♥ No more broken seals, with unwashable insides.

  13. I have started working out with a personal trainer. Today she asked me to jog on the treadmill. Y'all don't have any idea what a major request that was....but I did it! I actually didn't too badly either. Wasn't for very long but I did it. I actually amazed myself.

  14. I was gathering stuff to donate and putting them in containers when my little preschooler said, "Momma, do you need some help... because it looks like you need some help." SO cute and sweet! I stopped and gave him great big hugs and kisses and told him thank you for being so sweet and Momma's big helper!

  15. I work at a High School in Nutritional Services. Today I got a homeless high school kid to smile and laugh. He gets free lunch and before he hung his head down and would not smile or look up and every day I smiled and told him to have a good day and told him a joke and now he is smiling and laughing! A great moment to remember.

  16. I was driving my 4 year old son to ballet on Monday when he asked if we could give his friends Transformers for Valentine's Day. I said, "No. They're too expensive." He asked if he could give ONE of his friends a Transformer.
    Me: Which one?
Jack: Anika doesn't have one... or Daddy. We should give Daddy a Transformer because his are broken. He's one of my big boy friends.

  27. All the animal lovers out there will appreciate what just happened today at my house. I rescued LouLou and Amy (independently and seperately...they are not related) off New York City streets several years ago (link to picture below). Neither tolerated the other well. While I've never seen blood drawn in their postured battles and they don't fight constantly, the scrappling was rough enough to worry me that one would get hurt. It has been calm in the house of late but I could not have imagined happening what I saw today....LouLou and Amy laying together in the same cat bed! (LouLou is the all white bigger kitty) You know, they still didn't seem like best friends while in the bed, but if you have animals of your own that don't get along, you'll understand how elated and delighted I am to have caught this precious moment. I hope one of these links work:

  29. I teach Preschool and I had one of my mother's email me with this: The other day Eva told me, "Mom, my teacher has a five cent body..." My thoughts are, "WHAT?!?!" She continues on by saying, "Yeah, she can see, hear, smell, touch...and taste" Big sigh of relief followed by a hardy chuckle. Thought I'd share this. It made my day! "Out of the mouth of babes".

He did tell me it was "free for family members!" Thank goodness! I treasure these sweet moments with my children.

  39. My favorite thing this week was when one of the little girls who rides my school bus told me I looked very, very, very, very pretty. I wore my hair different that day, and she was the only one who commented on it! What a sweetheart.

  40. I flew to my hometown in Oregon to visit a sick family member. I had the opportunity to visit some of the places I remembered as a child. I drove by the Dairy Queen where some 40+ years ago my beloved grandmother bought me my first banana split. I remember that day like it was yesterday - sitting at the picnic table behind the store and my grandmother insisting that I wasn't big enough to finish the whole thing. Of course I did!
