take time for inspiration - interactive first word album

oh my,
i am so excited to share this project with you!
i created this little album for my daughter to help her learn to read,
and she loves it. (so do i!)
want one?
here is what you do:

create your album using a digital kit full of simple images that are appealing to your child.
this my favorite, and the kit i used. create simple pages using a single image and word.

add audio to the page, using this tutorial. for my album, i had my child record the letters and word in her own voice. continue creating your pages until complete. now enjoy watching your album digitally with your child. enjoy!

take time to reconnect

i was in for quite a treat when i woke up this morning...
an extra special lunch with an extra special old friend.
we talked for hours.
reminisced about our college days together.
laughed until we cried.
got caught up.
we reconnected.

and that is what i challenge you to do this week:
take time to reconnect
with a friend, a hobby, yourself,
whatever you are inspired to take time for.
don't forget to post a picture and drop it in your take time album.

i can't wait to see what you come up with!

tutorial: christmas ornament

is your tree trimmed? want to add an extra special touch to your holiday decorations?
try creating these fun and festive ornaments using memorymixer.

1. open a new album and create three landscape pages using a background only.

2. create a blank fourth page, add a round photobox and insert a photo. print all four pages in the album.

3. fold each of the background papers accordion style.

4. adhere pages together to create one large accordion folded page.

5. adhere the two ends together to create a circle shape.

6. cut out the round photo and secure in the middle of the folded circle.

7. punch a hole through the top of the ornament, string with thread, and hang from your tree.

deck the halls

my favorite little thing about christmas decorating?
the tree
(of course!)

last night we bundled up, and headed out to find the perfect christmas tree.
we brought it home, lit it up, and started decorating...magic.
my children's faces were full of pure delight and wonder.
they loved pulling out our ornaments and carefully hanging them.
i loved watching them, and am so glad i captured this little moment.

how are you decorating your tree this year?
(i can't wait to show you my new ornaments later this week...)

shoveled more snow off my driveway

tried to warm up my son's hands after eating snow for twenty minutes
watched snow fall and fall and fall
